US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff has said there has been "meaningful progress" in efforts to reach a peace settlement following trilateral talks between Ukraine, the US and Russia in Geneva.

Background:
- Rustem Umierov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine and head of the Ukrainian delegation, said the talks focused on practical issues and the mechanics of possible solutions. He added that the teams had continued their work in groups by area after the joint session.
- National security advisers from the UK, France, Germany and Italy arrived in Geneva and were expected to hold meetings with the Ukrainian and US teams.
- Trump said ahead of trilateral talks in Geneva that Ukraine "better come to the table fast".
