Trump says he "is entitled" to third presidential term

US President Donald Trump has suggested that he has the right to take another presidential term because he believes he was cheated in the 2020 election.

Quote: "Should we do one more one more term? Well, we're entitled to it, because they cheated like hell in the second – we would actually be entitled to it."
Details: CNN noted that there was no evidence of widespread fraud in the 2020 election, when Joe Biden was elected US president.
Regarding the third term, Trump made a statement during a rambling speech at the Port of Corpus Christi, Texas. CNN noted that the US leader was wearing a baseball cap with the words "American Gulf" and walked onto stage to his signature campaign song: God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood.
Trump also summarised his State of the Union speech. In addition, he shared a strange story about his friend who said his marriage had improved thanks to the Trump administration's policies because his 401(k) account [employer-sponsored retirement savings plan in the US that allows employees to set aside part of their wages – ed.] had grown.
Background:
- In October last year, Trump ruled out seeking a third term as president.
- In November, answering journalists' questions about the possibility of running for a third presidential term in 2028, he said the Republican Party has a "strong bench", unlike the Democrats.
