Details: Koretskyi said units from Ukraine's State Emergency Service and emergency crews from Naftogaz are currently working at the scene. Naftogaz is coordinating efforts with all the relevant services.
Background:
- In February, natural gas withdrawals from Ukrainian underground storage facilities averaged 42 million cubic metres per day, thanks to domestic production and imports.
- On 17 February, the Naftogaz Group reported that since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Moscow had carried out 401 attacks on infrastructure facilities operated by the Naftogaz Group. In 2025 alone, 229 attacks were recorded – more than in the previous three years combined.
- On the night of 27-28 February, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 105 drones. Ukrainian air defence forces managed to destroy or jam 96 of them.
- At dawn on 28 February, Russian forces attacked Dnipro. Explosions were heard across the city and a fire broke out.
- The same night, Russia also struck a railway station in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, hitting an electric-powered locomotive.
