Foreigner detained for preparing terror attack on Russian order in Kyiv – photos
A foreign national has been detained for making an improvised explosive device on the instructions of handlers from Russia and preparing to carry out a terror attack in Kyiv.

Quote: "A 42-year-old citizen of the Republic of Armenia has been served with a notice of suspicion for preparing to commit a terrorist act, namely an explosion that created a danger to a person's life or health."
Details: Law enforcement officers established that the suspect has lived in Kyiv for many years in an apartment belonging to his wife but has no permanent job or income. An acquaintance offered him a side job and gave him the contacts of a man who was supposed to arrange construction work for him.
In fact, the prospective employer turned out to be a representative of Russian secret services and the proposed work involved making explosives and carrying out a terror attack. After receiving several thousand hryvnias on his bank card, the man agreed to cooperate.
Money to buy all components needed to carry out the terror attack was transferred to his wife's bank card. He spent part of it on living expenses while gradually assembling an improvised explosive device in the apartment.
To make it, the man bought four mobile phones, SIM cards for them and special substances. Using instructions received from his handler, the suspect made explosives which he was then supposed to plant where he was told. He was promised UAH 20,000 hryvnias (approx. US$450) for the job.
The crime was not completed because the suspect was detained before planting the explosives.
The court remanded the suspect in custody.
The sanction under the article provides for imprisonment for a term of 7-12 years with or without confiscation of property.
