Ukrainian ground robot survives artillery strike and helps repel Russian assault

The Droid TW 7.62, a Ukrainian-made ground robotic system, has helped Ukrainian soldiers hold a frontline position. The drone survived a Russian artillery strike and then opened machine-gun fire on Russian troops.

Details: The drone was operated by the Disney Squad special unit. First, the ground robotic system detected and destroyed two Russian ambush drones that were lying in wait for a target near a road.

The robot then detected two Russian infantry soldiers who were moving towards Ukrainian positions. One of them was killed by machine-gun fire, while the other was wounded. Before the next wave of the assault, Russian forces shelled the position with artillery and attempted to destroy the robot, but it survived. According to DevDroid, the Droid TW 7.62 then opened fire on the next group of Russian infantry, forcing them to retreat.
"Using a single ground robotic system, the unit was able to completely repel the assault," DevDroid said.
For reference: The Droid TW 7.62 was developed as a reconnaissance and attack ground system adapted for the KT-7.62 machine gun. It features a built-in ballistic computer and elements of artificial intelligence for autonomous target detection, acquisition and tracking.
Background:
- In February, soldiers from Ukraine's 32nd Separate Mechanised Brigade killed two Russian soldiers with a ground robotic system from a distance of about 300 m.
- On the Pokrovsk front, soldiers from the 3rd Spartan Brigade of Ukraine's National Guard have used ground robotic systems to evacuate wounded troops from the front lines.
