Zelenskyy: Arrangements for peace talks are like a soap opera, with venue and date still not agreed

Ukraine is ready for the next round of negotiations on ending the Russo-Ukrainian war, but the location and timing of the meeting have still not been agreed due to differences between the United States and Russia.

Details: Zelenskyy noted that the talks had been postponed at the US's request because of the war against Iran.

Quote: "There's a whole 'Santa Barbara' going on with these talks because of the war in the Middle East. The Americans have said they're willing to meet, but only in the US, because the war and the security situation do not allow them to leave US territory now."

Details: Zelenskyy said Ukraine has confirmed that its delegation is ready to fly to Miami or Washington, but the Russians have refused to travel to the US and suggested holding the meeting in one of two countries – Türkiye or Switzerland. The Americans rejected that option.

"We said immediately that we are ready to meet next week. We are prepared to meet in the US, Switzerland, Türkiye, even, if they are not afraid, in the Emirates," Zelenskyy said, adding that it depends on the Americans whether the negotiations take place.
