Quote: "We had a substantive discussion about involving Ukrainian military personnel in future NATO exercises in the role of a simulated adversary (Red Team). Last year's experience of our units' participation demonstrated the latest methods of warfare to the allies – in training scenarios, Ukrainian teams showed a significant advantage… Today, Ukraine is not only a consumer of security. Ukraine is its producer."

Details: They also discussed the future of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC), officially opened at the beginning of 2025.

"We are reaching the final stage of deploying Ukrainian command systems, developing analytical capabilities and contributing to the expansion of training programmes," Palisa said.

Background: JATEC, as a joint Ukraine-NATO initiative, is intended to support the development of interoperability between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and NATO forces and to promote the exchange of experience between the two sides.
