Russia launched 556 attack drones during the day on 24 March, while Ukrainian air defence downed 541 of them as of 19:00. In total, Russia launched 948 UAVs over a 24-hour period.

Details: Early reports indicate that Russia used 556 attack UAVs during the period from 09:00 to 18:00 on 24 March.

Fifteen strikes were recorded.

All available air defence assets have been deployed to repel the aerial attack, specifically manned aircraft, anti-aircraft drones, electronic warfare systems and ground-based air defence units.

  • Yurii Ihnat, Head of the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, told Ukrainska Pravda that Russia is carrying out one of its heaviest large-scale attacks on Ukraine on 24 March, as more than 400 attack drones entered Ukrainian airspace during the day and some strikes hit multiple locations.
  • He said that Russia continued its aerial terror after the Air Force released its morning report on the results of the overnight combined attack.
  • From 09:00 until 15:00, more than 400 attack drones entered Ukrainian airspace from the south, north and across the contact line, while 392 Russian drones were recorded between 18:00 on 23 March and 09:00 on 24 March.
