Nearly 1,000 drones in 24 hours – Ukraine's Air Force reports on large-scale Russian attack

Russia launched 556 attack drones during the day on 24 March, while Ukrainian air defence downed 541 of them as of 19:00. In total, Russia launched 948 UAVs over a 24-hour period.

Quote: "Russia is carrying out one of its heaviest large-scale drone attacks on Ukraine on 24 March. More than 550 additional enemy attack UAVs entered [Ukraine's airspace] during the day. Taking into account the overnight attack from 18:00 on 23 March to 18:00 on 24 March, over this 24-hour period the enemy used nearly 1,000 Shahed and Gerbera attack drones as well as UAVs of other types."
Details: Early reports indicate that Russia used 556 attack UAVs during the period from 09:00 to 18:00 on 24 March.
Fifteen strikes were recorded.
All available air defence assets have been deployed to repel the aerial attack, specifically manned aircraft, anti-aircraft drones, electronic warfare systems and ground-based air defence units.
Early reports indicate that Ukrainian air defence had downed or jammed 541 Russian UAVs by 18:00.

- Yurii Ihnat, Head of the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, told Ukrainska Pravda that Russia is carrying out one of its heaviest large-scale attacks on Ukraine on 24 March, as more than 400 attack drones entered Ukrainian airspace during the day and some strikes hit multiple locations.
- He said that Russia continued its aerial terror after the Air Force released its morning report on the results of the overnight combined attack.
- From 09:00 until 15:00, more than 400 attack drones entered Ukrainian airspace from the south, north and across the contact line, while 392 Russian drones were recorded between 18:00 on 23 March and 09:00 on 24 March.
