Details: The fund's governing board meeting took place in Kyiv on 25 March. Sine Engineering, the beneficiary of this investment, operates in the communications and technology sector. The prime minister did not disclose the amount of the investment.

Quote from Svyrydenko: "More than 150 Ukrainian manufacturers of UAVs and interceptors are already using its components."

Details: The agreement with Sine Engineering marks the first investment by the joint US-Ukrainian fund. In total, URIF has received more than 200 applications for consideration, over half of them from Ukrainian companies.

Quote from Svyrydenko: "The largest number of project proposals has been submitted in the energy sector, which is critical for Ukraine. Other priority areas include dual-use manufacturing, infrastructure and the critical minerals sector."

Details: Sine Engineering is a defence-tech company founded in Lviv in 2022. It specialises in drone technologies, including GPS-independent navigation, communications and swarm control. The company is a resident of Diia City.

The URIF was established in April 2025. Over nine months, the parties each contributed US$75 million to the authorised capital, after which the fund became operational and launched an online application portal. Under the so-called minerals agreement, Ukraine committed to directing 50% of revenues from new and dormant licences, as well as royalty payments for mineral extraction, to the fund after the agreement enters into force.

Background: Oboronka reported that Ukrainian drone manufacturer Buntar Aerospace raised US$10.4 million in a new investment round to develop its intelligence data collection and processing technology.
