Latvian military detect unidentified drone near border with Russia

Latvia's Armed Forces have reported that an unidentified drone was detected near the border with Russia on the evening of 30 March.

Details: The foreign unmanned aerial vehicle was spotted near the Latvian–Russian border, in the areas of the Ludza and Balvi districts. However, officials stressed that the drone did not enter the country's airspace.

SMS alerts were sent out in Latvia to promptly inform residents of the relevant regions.

Once the drone moved away from the Latvian border, residents received an SMS notification stating that the threat had passed.
