Details: Haiovska-Kovbasiuk said that after receiving a request from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) for the extradition of the two suspects to Ukraine, a number of procedural and technical shortcomings were identified during its review.
In working order, the Prosecutor General's Office, together with NABU, processed and supplemented 24 volumes of materials, and also prepared and translated the text of the request, Haiovska-Kovbasiuk added.
Quote: "After the final removal of shortcomings and errors, the extradition request was sent to the Ministry of Justice of the State of Israel."
Background:
- Oleksandr Abakumov, chief detective in the Midas case, said in an interview with the YouTube channel Ye Pytannia ("There's a Question") that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine had submitted the necessary documents for signing by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko two weeks ago to request the extradition of suspects Tymur Mindich and Oleksandr Tsukerman, who are currently in Israel.
- Abakumov noted that Israel is a very difficult country for extradition, as extraditing a person requires providing virtually all materials of the criminal proceedings.
