Details: Skomantas Urbonas, who won NOK 15,000 – approximately €1,330 – with his victory in the national mathematics competition, decided to donate the entire sum to support Ukraine's defence forces and Ukraine's healthcare system.
"I've always heard that evil can only prevail when good people do nothing. That's why I felt that this achievement would have greater meaning if it could contribute to Ukraine's victory," Skomantas is quoted as saying in the post of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude to all benefactors supporting Ukraine. The gift from Skomantas Urbonas was accepted by Ukraine's Ambassador to Norway Oleksii Havrysh, who thanked him for his principled stance and contribution to the fight against Russian aggression.
Background:

Earlier, in December, an anonymous benefactor transferred €4 million to the initiative, which was distributed among a number of projects.
- In Lithuania, ahead of the fourth anniversary of the full-scale war, the Radarom! campaign in support of Ukraine raised €4 million for robotic systems.
