Drones fly 1,400 km: Ukraine's General Staff reports strike on oil refinery in Russia's Ufa
The Bashneft-Novoil oil refinery in Ufa, the capital of Russia's Bashkortostan, has been struck by drones operated by Ukraine's defence forces, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

Quote: "On 1 and 2 April, Ukraine's defence forces carried out strikes on key facilities of the aggressor. In particular, the Bashneft-Novoil oil refinery (Ufa, Bashkortostan, Russian Federation) was hit. A strike on the target was confirmed, followed by a fire on the facility's premises… The extent of the damage is being confirmed."
Details: The General Staff noted that the refinery is located approximately 1,400 km from the Ukrainian border.
"The refinery is an important component of Russia's fuel and energy complex and is used to meet the needs of the Russian army," the statement said.
Background:
- Bashneft-Novoil is one of Russia's largest producers of high-quality lubricants (including marine, hydraulic and engine oils), with a crude oil processing capacity of around 7 million tonnes per year.
- In addition, Ukraine's defence forces struck the Kulikovskyi training ground in Novopetrivka and a Russian ammunition depot in Uspenivka in temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
- Ukrainian forces also targeted areas where Russian personnel were concentrated in Kotlyne and Shandryholove in Donetsk Oblast, as well as Berezove in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Russian losses are being confirmed.
