Details: The government's decision will enable planes and helicopters to be retrofitted more quickly.
Quote: "It is now possible to install weapons and communications, navigation and target detection systems without lengthy approvals. The entire process will be reduced to one month."
Details: In addition to companies, experts and military units will also be able to take part in upgrading Ukrainian aircraft. Svyrydenko said this will help Ukraine respond more rapidly to threats and strengthen its air defence.
Background:
- In early March, the government expanded capabilities and support for private air defence groups established at critical infrastructure companies in Ukraine.
- In 2025, Ukraine ensured the training of nearly 100 pilot cadets, who are expected to form the backbone of its revamped Air Force.
