Details: Adoption of the bill is an important step towards concluding the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA) between Ukraine and the European Union, the so-called "industrial visa-free regime", and towards Ukraine's further integration into the EU internal market.
The law is aimed at harmonising Ukrainian legislation in the fields of technical regulation and accreditation with EU rules.
The bill is designed to improve the safety of industrial products, strengthen trust in national certification bodies and create conditions for broader access for Ukrainian goods to the EU market.
The adoption of these legislative changes will support the production of Ukrainian goods in line with European safety standards, improve product quality on the domestic market and expand opportunities for Ukrainian manufacturers to enter the EU market.
It is also expected to create new jobs, helping to raise incomes through easier access for Ukrainian producers to the EU market.
Background:
- The Verkhovna Rada approved the bill No. 14412 on the principles of delimitation and distribution of powers between levels of public governance, which is important in the context of Ukraine's path towards the EU
- The European Commission warned Kyiv that plans to reduce the status of politically exposed persons (PEPs) to three years run counter to European integration and recommended that Ukraine hold consultations before introducing the relevant rules.
