Iran and Oman will be able to charge ships transiting through the Strait of Hormuz under the terms of a two-week ceasefire plan.

Details: The Strait of Hormuz constitutes the territorial waters of Iran and Oman. Previously, the world considered the strait an international waterway and never paid these countries for passage.
The official also stated that Iran will use the funds for recovery. What Oman will spend the money on is not yet known.
Background:
- On the night of 7-8 April, US President Donald Trump stated that he has agreed to suspend bombing and attacks on Iran for two weeks if the country agrees to fully open the Strait of Hormuz.
- Israel subsequently also joined the two-week ceasefire with Iran.
- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran will cease military operations and ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz for two weeks if attacks on the country stop.
