Details: The auction was initiated by Ukrhydroenergo, Ukraine's largest state-owned hydropower company, which operates hydropower plants along the Dnipro and Dnister rivers and is selling electricity along the Ukraine-Moldova route.

The sale is being conducted on a block basis during night hours, from 01:00 to 06:00 each day, with the supply period running from 15 to 30 April.

The volume of the resource sold amounts to 1,920 MWh.

Quote: "The conclusion of the first transaction in the section is an important event for the development of exchange trading in electricity and the expansion of organised market instruments. This also indicates the practical demand for the exchange mechanism for carrying out transactions in the electricity import and export segment."

More details: Volodymyr Briukhovetskyi, Operating Director of UEEX, said the first deal in the electricity import and export section is a landmark result for the exchange and all market participants.

Quote from Briukhovetskyi: "The actual start of trading in this segment demonstrates the willingness of companies to use the organised market to conduct cross-border operations, and also confirms the importance of developing transparent and competitive mechanisms for cross-border electricity trade with Ukraine."
