Quote: "For the first time in Ukraine's history, the courage of our warriors and the resilience of our people are sufficiently armed to defend against Russian strikes. This is not the first time Russia has come to destroy Ukrainian statehood and freedom. But now Ukrainians are in a stronger position than ever before – stronger than in 2014, stronger than in the 20th century, and stronger than at any earlier time.
This is a historic achievement of our state – Ukraine has withstood a full-scale war and is defending itself with dignity, with modern capabilities, and with the ability to take the war onto the enemy's territory – into Russia."
Details: Zelenslyy stressed that Ukrainian drones have significantly changed the way war is conducted.
He also said Ukraine is developing ground-based robotic systems, electronic warfare capabilities and working on its own air defence systems capable of countering ballistic threats.
He added that Ukraine has also achieved a high level in the production of missiles, armoured vehicles, artillery and defence software, while Ukrainian weapons and military expertise are attracting interest from countries in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
Background: Zelenskyy said in an address marking Ukrainian Arms Makers' Day that Ukraine is not selling off its weapons stockpiles but is building long-term security partnerships with other countries.
