Quote: "Today, as a birthday 'gift' to Putin, the Russian army destroyed a residential building in Pryluky, in Chernihiv Oblast. It was an ordinary five-storey apartment building. Tragically, as of now, five people have been reported killed and 26 injured, including five children. There may still be people under the rubble."

Russian missile strikes damaged another five apartment buildings in the city of Dnipro and four high-rise buildings in Kremenchuk, Poltava Oblast. Two people were killed and eight others injured.

A drone damaged a high-rise building in Zaporizhzhia.

Russian attacks killed two people in Kyiv and another two in Oleksandriia, Kirovohrad Oblast. Overall, infrastructure in Kyiv and 12 oblasts came under attack overnight.

One of Russia's key targets was Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Zelenskyy stressed that the Russians had sought to inflict maximum damage and make a show of it. The president described it as one of the most vile attacks, without providing further details.

Russian forces used 70 missiles, including a large number of ballistic missiles, as well as Shahed drones. Ukrainian air defence was able to shoot down only some of the Russian assets. Zelenskyy stressed that Russian ballistic missiles remain the biggest challenge.

Quote: "And air defence packages for us right now are a vital necessity. That is why every day we are looking for missiles for Patriot systems that can and must actually protect people's lives here, in Ukrainian skies. Thank you to everyone who is helping us."
