Russians drop six guided aerial bombs on dam in Kharkiv Oblast

Russian forces have dropped six guided aerial bombs on a dam in Kharkiv Oblast, a critical infrastructure facility located at one of the region's largest reservoirs.

Quote: "The enemy continues to attack our settlements and civilian infrastructure. Today, the occupiers directed six guided aerial bombs at the Pechenihy dam in the Chuhuiv district."
Details: Syniehubov noted that the reservoir is one of the largest in the oblast and a critically important facility.
Almost simultaneously, Russian troops carried out a combined attack on Kharkiv using Molniya and Shahed drones, he added.
Emergency medical services, the National Police and State Emergency Service units are working at the scene and dealing with the aftermath of the attack.
The Pechenihy Reservoir supplies a significant share of water to the city of Kharkiv and other settlements in the oblast.
In September 2022, a missile strike on a dam in the Chuhuiv district created a risk of large-scale flooding in surrounding areas. Russian forces also damaged this critical infrastructure facility last year.
Background:
- Earlier, the Russians destroyed a dam on the Siverskyi Donets River and water reserves in storage facilities were estimated to last only about two weeks, prompting the introduction of water supply schedules in Donetsk Oblast.
- A Russian attack on infrastructure near the Dnister Hydroelectric Power Plant in Chernivtsi Oblast caused a leak of technical oils into the Dnister River, with pollution spreading into Moldova.
- Since early October 2025, Russian forces have deliberately attacked 11 hydroelectric power plants and 45 major combined heat and power plants.
