Quote: "No, we didn't get any confirmation when they will come. They said to me at the very beginning of April – 1 or 2 April – I had a VTC conversation [a video teleconference – ed.] with them. All my team had a conversation with them. It was a positive conversation between us, and they confirmed that they will come."
Details: Zelenskyy added that it would be fair for the two officials to visit Ukraine, noting that they have travelled to Moscow many times and that it is important to send a signal to the Ukrainian public.
Quote: "We are waiting for them any day they will be ready. But I think that now they still focus on Iran, on the Middle East. Anyway, it's important for us to continue dialogue with the Americans."
Background:
- On 1 April, Zelenskyy spoke with Witkoff and Kushner as well as Senator Lindsey Graham and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
- He described the conversation as positive. The parties agreed to strengthen security guarantees for Ukraine, and Zelenskyy instructed the Ukrainian team to update the relevant documents.
