Fire reported at refinery in Russia's Krasnodar Krai after drone attack

Users on Russian social media communities have claimed that Krasnodar Krai was attacked by Ukrainian drones. It later emerged that a fire had broken out at an oil refinery in Tuapse.

Details: Local residents heard around 10 explosions in different parts of Russia's Black Sea coast in Krasnodar Krai.

Shot wrote that the loudest explosions had been heard near Anapa, Tuapse and Gelendzhik.

According to eyewitnesses, bright flashes were seen in the sky, along with what was described as " unpleasant moped-like sounds".

"There is currently no official information on casualties or damage," Shot reported.

Temporary restrictions on take-offs and landings were introduced at Krasnodar airport due to the alleged presence of Ukrainian drones in the airspace.

Some reports emerged later on Russian social media communities claiming that drones had struck an oil facility in Tuapse.

Update: Kondratyev claimed that two children had been killed and two adults injured in the drone attack on Tuapse. Classes have been cancelled in all educational institutions in the city.

Eyewitnesses released footage of a fire that had broken out in Tuapse following the attack. According to Astra, the Tuapse oil refinery is on fire. A photo of the fire was taken from approximately 1.5 km away.

For reference: The Tuapse oil refinery is an industrial facility in Krasnodar Krai, operated by RN Tuapse Refinery LLC. It operates as an integrated production complex together with the company's marine terminal for petroleum product logistics, Rosneft's RN Tuapse Marine Terminal. The refinery is owned by Russian oil giant Rosneft.
