Shooting in Kyiv: death toll rises to 6, 15 injured, including infant
The number of people killed in the attack in Kyiv has risen to six. Nine injured have been hospitalised, while another six received on-site medical assistance, including a four-month-old baby.

Quote: "According to medics, five people were killed as a result of the shooting in the street and inside the supermarket in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district.
A woman who was among the 10 hospitalised victims has just died in hospital. Her identity is being established; she was around 30 years old. Thus, the total number of people killed in the shooting is now six."
Details: Medics also provided assistance on site to six other victims.
Among them was a four-month-old child who suffered carbon monoxide poisoning in an apartment next to the one set on fire by the attacker before the shooting in the street and supermarket. The parents refused hospitalisation.
Background:
- On 18 April, a man opened fire on people in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district, leaving people dead and injured. Police conducted a special operation to detain the attacker.
- The man who carried out the fatal shooting was later killed during the arrest.
- According to Ukrainska Pravda's sources, his name was Dmytro Vasylchenkov, born on 21 April 1968. He was born in Moscow, held Ukrainian citizenship and had previously lived in Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast, before moving to Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district.
- Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko confirmed that the shooter was a 58-year-old Moscow-born man.
- Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said the attacker used a registered weapon during the incident.
