Ukraine's foreign minister welcomes EU top diplomat’s plan to bar pro-Russian fighters
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has welcomed a statement by Kaja Kallas, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, on the possible introduction of an entry ban for Russians involved in the war against Ukraine.

Details: Sybiha described Kallas's remarks about the EU's readiness to introduce entry restrictions for Russian fighters as a "strong signal".
Quote: "This is a timely and welcome step that will show every Russian that by signing a contract to fight a criminal war of aggression against Ukraine, they also sign an entry ban to Europe.
This is fair. You fight a war to harm Europe and European states – you don't get to travel there.
I urge all EU member states to back this critical measure."
Previously: In February, Sybiha called for a ban on entry to the EU for Russian citizens who had fought against Ukraine.
Background: Kallas presented the fourth pillar of the European Union's future security guarantees for Ukraine during a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg on 21 April. The ministers have agreed to move forward with it.
