Air defence deployed in Kyiv: Russian drone debris falls in capital

Air defence systems were deployed in Kyiv in response to Russian drones, with debris falling in the Solomianskyi district.

Details: The Air Force warned previously that a group of Russian drones was moving towards Kyiv.

Updated: The all-clear was given at 09:48.

The mayor reported that UAV debris fell at two locations in the Solomianskyi district – in a non-residential area and into a body of water.

Background:

• On the night of 23-24 April, Russia attacked Ukraine with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 107 strike UAVs; Ukraine's air defence downed 96 Russian drones.
• Two ballistic missiles and 10 strike UAVs were recorded hitting nine locations, and debris from downed UAVs was found at two locations.
• The Air Force warned that the Russian attack is ongoing, with several Russian UAVs in the airspace.
