Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Azerbaijan on 25 April for an official visit.

Details: Nykyforov said Zelenskyy is currently heading to a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Joint statements by both leaders are expected after the talks.

Zelenskyy has also received a briefing from Ukrainian military officials, who are sharing Ukraine's experience and expertise in air defence.
Background:
- On 23 April, Zelenskyy visited Cyprus to take part in an informal EU leaders' summit.
- Plans for Zelenskyy's visit to Azerbaijan were previously announced in February 2024 but were postponed.
- Azerbaijan has repeatedly provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine during the war, including after Russian strikes on Azerbaijani business assets.
