Details: The Operational Staff reported that 128 personnel and 41 fire appliances have been involved in extinguishing the fire at the terminal.
This was the fourth drone attack on the maritime terminal over the past two weeks.
Previous strikes on the city's infrastructure caused a major fire at an oil refinery that took several days to extinguish.
Reports from the city also mentioned an environmental disaster: "oil rain" was observed and a large oil slick has formed in the waters of the Black Sea.
Background:
- On 16 April, deep-strike units from the Special Operations Forces struck several facilities at an oil terminal in the Black Sea port of Tuapse.
- Ukraine's General Staff confirmed the extent of the damage to oil refineries in the Russian cities of Tuapse and Yaroslavl: 24 storage tanks had been destroyed and four damaged in a strike near the Tuapse oil refinery on 20 April.
- On the night of 27-28 April, drones again attacked the maritime terminal and the oil refinery in Tuapse. The Russian authorities reported that more than 160 firefighters had been involved in extinguishing a major fire and that an evacuation of residents had been ordered.
