Russia attacks Ukraine with Iskander ballistic missile and 88 UAVs in one day: air defence downs 70 UAVs, hits recorded

Russia has attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 88 loitering munitions since the morning on 4 May. The missile and 14 drones hit their targets, while air defence downed 70 UAVs.

Details: Russian forces attacked with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 88 strike UAVs of various types, particularly Shahed (including jet-powered models), Gerbera and Italmas drones, as well as Parodiya decoy drones from 08:30 to 18:30 on 4 May.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

Early reports indicate that, as of 18:30, air defence shot down or jammed 70 Russian UAVs of various types over the east, north and south of the country.

The ballistic missile and 14 attack UAVs hit targets.

The Air Force warned that the attack is ongoing, with several Russian drones still in Ukrainian airspace.
