Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces (USF), the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) and the Special Operations Forces (SOF) struck one of Russia's largest oil refineries, the Kirishi Refinery (Kinef), as well as the Kirishi oil pumping station in Leningrad Oblast on the night of 4-5 May.

Details: Drone operators from the 1st Separate Centre of the USF, together with the SOF and the SSU, in coordination with other units of Ukraine's defence forces, struck the Kirishi refinery (Kinef) in Leningrad Oblast. The plant has a capacity of 20-21 million tonnes of oil per year, making it one of the three largest refineries in Russia.

The facility is part of Surgutneftegas and specialises in deep oil refining, producing fuel, bitumen and aromatic hydrocarbons. Kinef is an important element of Russia's export logistics in the Baltic region.

The SSU reported that drone strikes hit three primary oil processing units (AVT units) at the refinery. A fire is ongoing. According to the service, a fuel storage tank at the oil pumping station was also hit.

In addition, drone operators from the 1st Separate Centre, in cooperation with Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, missile forces and other units of the defence forces, carried out a combined strike on the VNIIR Progress plant in the city of Cheboksary.
