Russian forces have hit a critical infrastructure facility in Zhovkva, Lviv Oblast, leaving the town without electricity.

"I ask everyone not to film anything and to remain in safe places until the all-clear is given. Stay strong!" the mayor said.

An air-raid warning was issued in Lviv Oblast during the day of 13 May due to the threat of Russian attack drones, Lviv Oblast Military Administration reported.

Air-raid warnings were issued in the Zolochiv and Sheptytskyi districts, and later the warning was extended to the entire oblast.

Background:

  • Earlier, it was reported that Russian forces attempted to strike infrastructure facilities in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, with residents of Kolomyia reporting loud explosions heard across different parts of the city.
  • Russian troops also struck a critical infrastructure facility in Kharkiv Oblast, leaving more than 4,500 consumers in Derhachi and other settlements without electricity.
  • Following Russian attacks on energy infrastructure facilities, consumers were without power on the morning of 13 May in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.
  • In the Poltava district, more than 7,000 consumers lost electricity after Russian drones struck an electrical substation on the night of 12-13 May.
