Search and rescue operations at site of Russian strike on Kyiv high-rise building completed

Rescue workers have completed search and rescue operations at the site of the Russian strike on a high-rise building in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv. As a result of the attack, 24 people were killed, including three children.

Details: The report stated that operational and utility services of the city, as well as volunteers, worked at the site for more than a day – a total of 401 people and 84 pieces of equipment, including 180 rescue workers and 54 fire appliances and pieces of special equipment from the State Emergency Service.

More than 3,800 cubic metres of construction debris were removed. SES dog-handling teams inspected over 2,000 square metres of the area. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service and the National Police provided assistance to 477 people.

The Russian strike on the night of 13-14 May destroyed the residential building entrance from the eighth to the ground floor. A total of 24 people were killed, including three children.

Background: On the night of 14 May, a combined Russian strike caused the collapse of part of a high-rise building in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv. On the morning of 15 May, it was reported that the death toll from the Russian attack had risen to 24 people.
