Bodies of over 500 fallen soldiers brought back to Ukraine

As part of repatriation efforts, the bodies and remains of 528 fallen Ukrainian defenders were brought back to Ukraine on 16 May.

Details: Investigators from law enforcement agencies will next carry out the identification of the repatriated deceased.

It is noted that the repatriation of the bodies involved representatives from the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Centre under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ombudsman's Office, the commissioner for missing persons under special circumstances and the State Emergency Service.
