Details: Zelenskyy reported that over the course of the week, the Russians launched over 3,170 strike drones, more than 1,300 guided aerial bombs and 74 missiles against Ukraine. As a result of the strikes over the week, 52 people were killed and 346 more injured, including 22 children.
Quote: "Our people need more protection, and everything that supports Ukraine's air defence ultimately helps save lives. That is why the PURL initiative and additional contributions for anti-ballistic missiles are critical. And it is equally important to work in Europe on joint protection against ballistic missiles. We must be self-sufficient in defence so that Russian aerial terror cannot threaten Ukraine or any other country on the continent."
Background: On the night of 16-17 May, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 287 UAVs, of which the Air Force confirmed 279 as shot down or jammed.
