Ukraine's deputy PM meets Serbian president

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Taras Kachka has met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić during his visit to Serbia on 21 May.

Details: Kachka wrote that the officials discussed EU enlargement, bilateral cooperation and regional development.
"We exchanged views on the future of EU enlargement policy and the importance of maintaining momentum in the accession process. I stressed that political signals from EU Member States matter greatly for candidate countries. Ukraine supports initiatives that can accelerate integration and help move the accession forward," Kachka noted.
He stressed that Ukraine's priority remains unchanged – the opening of all negotiating clusters and further progress on the path to the EU.
They also discussed with Vučić the importance of concluding negotiations on a free trade agreement between the two countries.
"Appreciate Serbia's openness to further intensifying bilateral dialogue," Kachka stressed.

- During this visit, a joint statement was signed on resuming the negotiating process for a free trade agreement between Ukraine and Serbia.
- Representatives of Ukraine and Serbia also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of European integration.
- The Ukrainian official's visit was preceded by a phone call between the presidents of Ukraine and Serbia. Zelenskyy, following talks with Aleksandar Vučić, stated that both leaders see potential for developing bilateral relations.
