Details: Russian military personnel use the term "Baba Yaga" as a generic name for Ukrainian heavy strike copters such as Vampire, Heavy Shot, Kazhan and similar UAVs.
The Berdysh is a multirotor hexacopter drone capable of performing strike, cargo and communications relay functions. The UAV is reportedly developed by Ural Drone Factory.
According to Russian materials, the Berdysh has a flight range of up to 25 km, an altitude ceiling of up to 1,000 m and a speed of up to 50 km/h. Its claimed payload capacity is up to 20 kg.
Russian sources also claim the drone can conduct round-the-clock television and infrared reconnaissance. According to these claims, the UAV can detect a person at a distance of up to 2 km and ground equipment at up to 10 km. Target identification is supposedly possible at distances of up to 500 m for personnel and up to 2 km for vehicles.
In addition, Russian sources say the Berdysh can use mounted Shmel and Kryuk grenade launchers.
Background: Earlier, Ukrainska Pravda reported that Russian forces had begun repairing captured Ukrainian Vampire bomber drones due to a shortage of their own heavy UAVs.
