The complex includes tanks with a total capacity of approximately 1.2–1.4 million tonnes and serves as a key accumulation hub for the Novorossiysk oil port.

The facility is used for the reception, storage and transfer of oil and petroleum products arriving via trunk pipelines for subsequent maritime export. The complex's operation generates significant revenues for Russia's budget, which are used to finance armed aggression against Ukraine.

A fire has been recorded on the facility's territory. The scale of the damage sustained is being assessed, Ukraine's General Staff adds.

Background: On the night of 7-8 June, drones attacked the Russian city of Novorossiysk. According to eyewitnesses, the Grushova industrial site – the tank farm of the Sheskharis transfer complex – was on fire.
