More details: Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine has brought back 9,446 people from Russian captivity, including 457 civilians.

Thousands of Ukrainians still remain in Russian captivity.

Quote: "We don't publicly name the exact figure. This is a deliberate tactic of the Ukrainian negotiating team. The Russians do not know exactly how many of their citizens we hold as prisoners. We don't publicly say how many Ukrainians are in Russian captivity."

More details: Lubinets added that the official register of missing persons currently contains more than 16,000 civilians from temporarily occupied territories.

A total of 1,877 of them have been verified as being held in Russian captivity. The International Committee of the Red Cross has helped locate 878 captive Ukrainian civilians, while another 999 have been verified by Ukrainian special services.
