Zelenskyy reveals what Trump said about Crimea in latest phone call: strong leadership would have prevented the war
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has recounted that US President Donald Trump said during their 14 June phone call that there would have been no war in Ukraine if there had been "strong leadership" when Russia seized Crimea in 2014.

Details: Zelenskyy spoke about the call he held with Trump on 14 June.
Quote: "We have one wish we would like to convey to President Trump – the wish of all Ukrainians: that peace can finally be achieved; that we can achieve this together with the United States and all our partners. This is what matters most to all of us. It is also important that American society fully supports Ukraine's aspiration for a dignified peace and our defence against Russia's war.
And President Trump's words today about our Crimea were entirely correct: it all started with Russia's seizure of Crimea, and had there been strong leadership at that time, there would have been no war at all."
More details: Zelenskyy also noted that he thanked Trump for all the assistance the US has provided and the two presidents have agreed to meet at forthcoming G7 events.
