People in five Ukrainian regions remain without electricity due to Russian attacks

New power outages have been recorded across five regions of Ukraine as of the morning of 15 June following a large-scale Russian attack on the night of 14-15 June.

Details: The areas affected are the city of Kyiv and Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.
"Emergency repair and restoration work has already begun wherever the security situation permits. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore electricity to all consumers as quickly as possible," Ukrenergo said in a statement.
Ukrenergo urged consumers to shift energy-intensive activities to the period between 10:00 and 16:00 and to use electricity sparingly between 18:00 and 22:00.a
Background:
- On the night of 14-15 June, Russian forces launched a combined attack on the capital, killing five people and injuring 30.
- The State Emergency Service said damage and fires were recorded in every district of the city. Emergency response teams are working at around 50 locations.
- Law enforcement authorities have closed sections of roads to traffic in Kyiv's Solomianskyi, Obolonskyi, Pecherskyi and Desnianskyi districts following the attack, with public transport routes temporarily diverted.
- Russian forces also damaged a production facility belonging to DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company, leaving 140,000 families without electricity.
- Separately, 58,000 consumers in Chernihiv Oblast remain without power following an accident at an energy facility.
