Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that the ambassadors of France, Germany and the United Kingdom brought "nothing new" to a meeting at his ministry last week.

Details: Lavrov met self-proclaimed Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk on Monday. He said they had discussed the role of Western countries "in resolving issues that go far beyond the Ukrainian conflict itself and concern the general principles of security both in Europe and globally".

Quote: "We share the same position. In the current situation, the Europeans are drawing the wrong conclusions, believing that Russia is now losing and Ukraine is winning, and therefore that they can issue ultimatums in the hope that Russia will accept them."

Details: Lavrov said the Europeans' calculations are "illusory" and claimed that this was further confirmed during the British, French and German ambassadors' visit to the Russian Foreign Ministry on 11 June.

"My deputy spoke with them. They brought nothing new," the Russian minister said.

Lavrov added that the "agreements" reached in Anchorage on 15 August last year will be discussed during the upcoming visit of US President Donald Trump's special envoys to Russia.

Quote: "We are adhering to the agreements reached on 15 August last year in Alaska... And of course we expect that the position agreed on the basis of the American proposal will be implemented."
