Russians hit Kharkiv: zoo hit, several animals killed – photos

Russian forces struck Kharkiv on 15 June, hitting the city's zoo and causing casualties among the animals.

Quote from Terekhov: "A strike has been recorded in the Shevchenkivskyi district – details are being established.
It has been confirmed that the zoo was hit. Animal enclosures have been damaged, and further details are being confirmed."
Details: The mayor later said there were reports of injured animals.
Update: The State Emergency Service has reported that several animals were killed as a result of the Russian strike.

The strike sparked a fire in one of the zoo enclosures, which was quickly extinguished.


Quote from the State Emergency Service: "Rescue workers and psychologists, together with officers of the National Police and zoo staff, evacuated animals from the vivarium building. Through their joint efforts, they succeeded in rescuing the animals and moving them to a safe location."
