Asked whether he has a meeting planned with Zelenskyy, Trump replied: "I had one". He added that it was "a good meeting".

"Russia should make a deal. Russia has lost a tremendous amount of people, and so has Ukraine," Trump said.

He then added that "I'm meeting him later on too," apparently referring to a further meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

No official announcement has been made regarding meetings scheduled between the presidents of Ukraine and the US as part of the G7 summit.

Background: It was also reported that Macron held a brief bilateral meeting with Zelenskyy ahead of the main session of the G7 summit.
