Zelenskyy discusses next steps on Ukraine's accession with EU leaders

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has discussed the next steps on Ukraine's EU accession during a meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa.

Details: Zelenskyy stressed the importance of opening the remaining five negotiating clusters for Ukraine in the near future. In addition, Kyiv expects to receive the first tranche from the EU's financial support package shortly, the president said.
The leaders also separately discussed security cooperation, work with the EU on the Drone Deal agreement and defence support for Ukraine, above all protection against Russian ballistic missiles.
