The talks were held in a restricted format: on the Ukrainian side, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Sybiha took part, while on the Polish side, Poland's Ambassador to the EU, Agnieszka Bartol, participated.

No results have been reported, but the meeting is of particular significance given the escalation of the historical conflict between the two countries and the approaching Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC) in Gdańsk, in which President Zelenskyy's participation had originally been planned.

In recent days, Polish sources reported that Zelenskyy will travel to Gdańsk despite the scandal over Heroes of the UPA. [The UPA, or Ukrainian Insurgent Army, was a nationalist paramilitary organisation that fought for Ukrainian independence during and after World War II, primarily against Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union – ed.]

No official confirmation of this has been received.

It is also known that the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Poland will meet at a public discussion in Gdańsk.
