Polish president’s office criticises former PM Tusk government over recovery conference and Zelenskyy's attendance
Zbigniew Bogucki, head of the Chancellery of the President of Poland, has said that the absence of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy from the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk would demonstrate the Polish government's inability to manage the situation.

Details: Bogucki said that there was information suggesting that the Ukrainian president would most likely not attend the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk, although he acknowledged that this had not yet been confirmed.
He stressed that the presidential team was not involved in organising the event and argued that full responsibility rested with the government.
According to Bogucki, the government had failed to handle the matter properly, both before and after President Karol Nawrocki revoked Zelenskyy's Order of the White Eagle.
When the host suggested that the government would probably link Zelenskyy's possible absence to the decision to strip him of the decoration, Bogucki dismissed such an argument as an attempt to evade responsibility.
He added that when Western leaders had previously discussed plans for Ukraine's reconstruction, neither Prime Minister Donald Tusk nor Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski had been present and said the government should not justify the situation by referring to the withdrawal of the order.
Background:
- Polish government spokesman Adam Szłapka has said there are no indications that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will not attend the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk.
- He also said he was surprised by the discussion surrounding the fact that the Polish president had not been invited to the conference.
