Russians launch large-scale strikes on filling stations and Naftogaz facilities in four oblasts

Russia has attacked petrol stations and production facilities belonging to the Naftogaz Group in Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava oblasts.

Details: Several Ukrnafta filling stations (owned by Naftogaz) in Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast came under attack.

A female employee was seriously injured in one strike by a Shahed drone and later hospitalised in a critical condition. Due to the damage, the filling stations affected have suspended operations.

Russian forces also attacked Naftogaz production facilities in Poltava Oblast overnight and on the morning of 24 June, causing significant damage to gas extraction and storage facilities. Some of them have suspended operations. No staff or first responders were injured at these sites.

"A fire at one of the facilities was quickly extinguished thanks to the prompt actions of State Emergency Service workers and Naftogaz Group staff," Koretskyi said.

Background:

• In early June, Naftogaz reached an agreement with the bondholder committee to extend the maturity of €1.2 billion worth of eurobond debt to 2032-2033.
• CEO Serhii Koretskyi noted that Russian forces carried out 229 strikes on Naftogaz facilities in 2025 alone – more than in the previous three years of the full-scale war combined – and that the company has suffered over 170 attacks between the start of 2026 and early June.
• Following Russia's large-scale combined attack targeting gas production facilities on 5 May, the Naftogaz Group has had to import additional volumes of gas.
