US Department of State: Ukraine is currently winning war
The US Department of State believes that Ukraine is currently in a position where it is winning the war.

Details: Lewin said Ukraine is doing a great deal to establish a new phase of the war and ultimately secure victory. In his assessment, the situation has shifted in Ukraine's favour.
"We do have a moment right now where Ukraine is winning the war for the moment," he said.
Lewin noted that Ukrainian forces on the battlefield had looked forward to winter because Russian troops would halt offensive operations and pause their advances. Now, the opposite is happening: Ukrainian forces are on the offensive while the Russians are waiting for winter.
Meanwhile, he stressed that Ukraine had even managed to "change the dynamic" during the previous winter by striking infrastructure inside Russia.
"I think this is a really important moment. And so Ukraine is going to continue pressing forward on the battlefield," Lewin added.
He also mentioned that the US is considering removing the sanctions waiver for Russian oil and stated that Washington will continue coordinating with its European partners on sanctions policy.

- According to the Financial Times, during a dinner last week in Évian-les-Bains, where the G7 summit was held, US President Donald Trump told his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy that he was impressed by Kyiv's recent military successes.
