Zelenskyy: Russians are more anxious now than during Ukraine's Kursk operation

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said intelligence obtained by Ukraine indicates that over 80% of Russians believe a major economic crisis in Russia is inevitable.

Quote: "We have also obtained internal Russian documents assessing the public mood among citizens of the aggressor state. At present, the level of anxiety among Russians is already higher than it was during our Kursk operation: more than 50%. Already, 66% of Russians consider their financial situation difficult. More than 80% of Russians believe a large-scale economic crisis in Russia is inevitable. These are absolutely clear indicators that reflect the failure of Putin's war policy."
Details: Zelenskyy said the FISU has obtained materials showing that the fuel crisis, problems with military logistics and governance issues in temporarily occupied Crimea are worsening with virtually every passing day.
According to the president, the Russian occupation administration clearly and unequivocally acknowledges its inability to resolve the problems created by Ukrainian mid-range drone strikes, as well as the long-range drone strikes which are primarily targeted at Russia's oil refining industry. A similar situation is unfolding in other Russian regions, he added.
Background:
- A fuel crisis is deepening in Russia and the occupied territories amid continuing Ukrainian strikes on oil refineries.
- Russian leader Vladimir Putin has instructed his government and the Defence Ministry to "take measures to reduce the consequences of Ukrainian attacks" on infrastructure to zero.
