Russian leader Vladimir Putin has instructed his government and the Defence Ministry to "take measures to reduce to zero the consequences of Ukrainian attacks" on infrastructure.

Quote: "First and foremost, the task of eliminating these threats lies with the Ministry of Defence and other security agencies. The government of the Russian Federation must also take additional measures to minimise, to reduce to zero, the consequences of such actions."
Details: Putin claimed that Ukraine is attempting to affect the tourist season in temporarily occupied Crimea and create problems with energy supplies.
Why this matters: Putin's regime unleashed and has continued to wage its full-scale war against Ukraine for a fifth year, primarily destroying civilian infrastructure and taking the lives of civilians.
Background:
- Ukraine's Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has predicted that the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula will become isolated in the near future due to Ukrainian drone strikes.
- Mid-range drone strike units from Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SOF), working together with members of the SOF Resistance Movement, destroyed a railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal near the village of Rozdolne in Crimea.
- A fuel crisis is deepening in Russia and the occupied territories amid continuing Ukrainian strikes on oil refineries.
