Zelenskyy: Dormition Cathedral of Kyiv Pechersk Lavra damaged by Russian drone has been preserved and is being prepared for restoration

Conservation works on the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, damaged as a result of a Russian attack, have been completed, and the cathedral is being prepared for restoration.

Quote: "Report by Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko. I am grateful for the prompt work to deal with the aftermath of the Russian strike on the Lavra. Conservation work on the Dormition Cathedral, which sustained the most damage from Russian drones, has already been completed. The cathedral's roof has been covered so that the condition of the building does not deteriorate due to weather conditions. We are preparing the restoration of the cathedral, and this is already the responsibility, in particular, of Ukraine's Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."

Details: Zelenskyy noted that during a recent meeting with the President of Switzerland, it was agreed that partners would support the priority steps for the restoration of this cultural monument.
